This tonneau-shaped movement perfectly tailored to the case is entirely developed and crafted within the Manufacture. The tourbillon carriage, inspired by the brand��s signature Maltese cross emblem, provides a splendid showcase for the exceptional level of finishing of each movement part, including a number of naturally hand-bevelled interior angles. Rounding off the tourbillon bar alone called for 12 hours of hand craftsmanship in order to meet the finishing criteria established by Vacheron Constantin. This technique, referred to in French as ber?age, consists of filing the tips of the arms with perfect regularity so as to give them a conical and semi-cylindrical shape, while respecting the limits of the centre and the heels. To finalise the operation, the artisans smooth it down using stones, buffs, wooden pegs and special pastes in order to achieve a perfectly polished effect.

Launched at Watches & Wonders 2015, the Malte Tourbillon Haute Joaillerie features a case, bracelet and dial set with a total of 1,170 baguette-cut diamonds, total weight of approx. 46.8 carats. Only an exceptional calibre could be worthy of such a watch certified by the Hallmark of Geneva. Calibre 2795, a mechanical hand-wound movement with a two-day power reserve and comprising no less than 169 components, radiates a prestige on a par with that of the timepiece for which it has naturally become the dedicated calibre. This tonneau-shaped tourbillon movement �C entirely developed and crafted within the Manufacture �C is perfectly suited to the 38 x 48.24 mm case featuring a sapphire back reproducing the shape of the case.
